Skills:
First and foremost, North's got a sharp eye derived from years as a combat sniper in a war where loss means the genocide of humanity. With this comes a wealth of patience, a high situational awareness, the ability to stay in one place immobile for hours on end to wait for a perfect shot. All of this will translate well to hunting via archery. He's also trained to some degree in stealth to get him into good sniper perches, and there is no denying there is a lot of physical strength given hauling himself into those places in his heavy power armor. He's also been demonstrated to have a damn good throwing arm, which is useful not only for other forms of hunting, but the wonderful morale boosting stuff like sports.

As demonstrated throughout his brief run-time in the series, North is also a very protective guy, shielding others with his body itself at times, despite the fact that such actions even in power armor could easily get him killed. For all that he's a sniper, the man will put himself into active, close quarters combat situations to protect those important to him or who he has obligations to. But he's not completely reckless, so caution tempers it all, keeping him as a voice of reason on a team of people that aren't always the best at properly measuring risks.

At the same time as a sniper often tasked with overwatch of his team and a twin brother to a sometimes overly reckless sister, North can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to that protective nature. To the point where he might put others in danger. And damn, if he doesn't act sometimes like he knows best. North is also very practical. He's a man that will bring a shotgun to a fist fight and then proceed to use that gun because if you have a weapon and your life is on the line, honor doesn't matter.

But most importantly, the guy is empathetic. He cares about his team and family. Nowhere is this more obvious than his relationship with his twin and with the Theta AI. North does his best to be there for his sister throughout the series, sometimes to her frustration. If a comrade is in the infirmary, he's there when they wake up. The entire reason he is given the Theta AI, who embodies Trust and the trauma of trust betrayed, is because of his warm, nurturing nature. He's someone willing to stay up late to deal with Theta's fears. He doesn't just care about what's going on with the new little person in his head, but also his sister and his team. To them he's loyal to a fault, to the point where he abandons the program, stealing South and Theta because he wants to be there for them both.

On the other side of the coin you have Theta, and what he brings to the field is something entirely different. As a hyper-powerful, self-aware computer program, an artificial intelligence, he brings a sort of computing power that isn't available elsewhere in the village. Sure, he can't directly interface with technology anymore, but he proves to use the wetwork of North's brain for complex calculations, management of dangerous, experimental tech, and at the same time, still takes care of his Freelancer. Here he won't be able to do more than quick math for other people, especially trigonometry and geometry and other high level calculations on force, angles and the like. He is, after all, a combat AI. But he also brings a sense of curiosity and wonder that will leave North seeing even more positive in the world than he could manage himself.
